Thinking about staining the stand grey or black.....any thoughts?

I bought the supplies to stain the stand. When you have 3 kids you can't get anything done until they are sleep...and by that time I want to go to sleep too. So IM going to work early and taking off early so I can stain it tomorrow.

I chose I grey stain. I did the top of the stand that will be covered to test it out and I think it will turn out nice. I have never stained anything thing before so I hope there is no wrong way. I just bough a cheap brush and applied.

Stained....grey.........ish. going to let dry then decide if I'm going to do another coat.

Thanks guys. I drilled a couple of holes in the back to fit wires and ato through. I also am trying to decide how to hang my radion. I have a piece of 90* EMT that I can brace to the back of the stand and hang from there....but I don't like it. I may try to hang it from the ceiling, but then you can see the plug/cord draping to the back. :hmm5:

So here is the rank in place. I'm still not sure if I'm going to go with the emt or hang light from ceiling and have a black cord running down.

Actually not that bad. I had hind the black cord along the emt...and maybe even spray the emt black.

With the kids spending the night at "papa's" house and my wife taking care of the baby I was able to put water and rock in the tank.

I am running the stock skimmer right now and I tried to run some carbon in my brand new reactor, but it had a slight leak and I didn't feel like dealing with it tonight. Hopefully tomorrow the "dust" will settle down.
