My tank build thread - Dual 40s

Well, I'm totally on top of things for plumbing :rolleyes: I got the wrong PVC cutters and not enough 45s. Tomorrow morning I'm going to Lowes or HD and picking up some more stuff so that I can finish plumbing. To compensate for the wrong PVC cutters I used my dremmel...cordless and with the wrong bit, so it's taking FOREVER :D Such is life I guess :lol:
 
know the feeling about the multiple trips to Lowes/Homedepot. I think I'm up to 5 now.. But this time I think I'm done. :rolleyes:
 
Tank's plumbed! :bounce1: Now all I have to do is go steal some water and get this thing going! I'm going to use aged water because I don't really want to have to deal with a cycle ;)
 
Are you using established liverock and sand? If not, you're going to have a cycle anyway so you might as well save yourself a little bit of trouble and just use new ASW...

Just a suggestion...

Even with LR and LS, there will still probably be a cycle of small proportions. Something is bound to die on the rock when it's transfered.
 
Yup....which was my point.

If you really want to go through the hassle of finding "used" tankwater, knock yourself out, but its not really necessary, and wont do that much for you.

Pics of what? Nothing much has changed...I'll be filling it with water at some point in time tonight, I'll get you your pics.

Lost the little potters today, the one that was eating like a damsel...no signs of sickness last night :( This sucks. such is life I guess...I just hoped they'd both make it. The one from Phishy is doing ok and is eating, but then again the other one was too.
 
It's workin on filling up. All of the old water was put in last night, I think I've had to use about 15 gallons of new water to finish filling...we only had 50 gallons of old water, the total tank volume will be 60+

Thanks Adam :) Live rock shipped yesterday (Bali from Phishy Business) so rock should be in the tank soon! :)
