Nice. try some live black worms.

And Idk what your treating for but I've had great luck with metronidazole for unknown parasites and internal parasites. I can't say enough about the stuff.

Good luck

Ultra nice !

I have kept mine as 5 weeks (2011-16cm) .... he is very delicate, take good care of this treasure!

I use a mix of kanaplex and metranidazole. I just treat incase, no signs of disease. We dont have black worms here in SA. Gonna try earthworms, its the best we got.

Nice, Olivier, beautiful specimen, we managed to get another 1 today. I get them in every now and then when I dive, they relatively deep and the deco doesnt go well all the time. I refuse to needle them, needling only causes problems.

Did your one only last 5 weeks? What caused him to die?

he had a very bad trip...he arrived almost died (NH3). I did everything in my power during 2 weeks : he eat all, and when all is ok he went in my huge tank. he died suddenly after 5 weeks (probably the first cause, intoxication....)

It was one of beautiful angel i had : a real tiger !

Let me ask you this, was he needled? All Tigers I have seen were needled.

Tigers are awesome! To collect them it is a mission though! Sometimes I spend 30 - 35 hours decompressing them and then when I get them into the bucket they swim unbalanced and there stomach is bloating, then I dive back in and release them at 30m. A real waste.

Best of luck with the new catch!

I saw during a recent video by a reefer in Singapore, Koji Wada needling a liopropoma after being in the tank for a while. He has a certain way he does it and has done it on other specimens that went on to be fully healed.

That's correct. He has done it in Liopropoma aurora, aberrans, roa excelsa and Prognathodes basabei amongst others.

Koji is excellent with needling fish. I have watched some of his clips and see he really knows how to do it.

I personally do not like to needle fish, there is a fine line between it being done right and the fish recovering and it being done wrong and the fish getting an infection and dieing.

Staged decompression is best IMO.

These were collected on nitrox. I do sometimes dive with ccr, when I first started collecting I would use ccr, gives you more of a stealthy approach but now its not necessary. Why you ask?

Curiosity. I find that CCR provides almost absolute silence and would seem to make collecting (especially at depth) much easier.

Ccr is great to use, don't get me wrong, it's silent and provides you with alot more bottom time but fills are quite expensive.

It makes a huge difference but I have been catching fish for sometime now, I only go for certain species as well and have gathered enough information on how to collect them.

Dives over 60 m require the use of my rebreather, so I save it for then.

Customized Inspiration Rebreather

Customized Inspiration Rebreather

Here is a picture of the bad boy! A specially customized rebreather to ensure my dives are safer, and if anything goes wrong (touch wood) I have back ups and bail outs that I carry with me as well.

It gets the job done....

Thanks Ted, I felt that certain more common standard rebreathers didnt really make me feel safe on dives and didnt really suit my needs. This has been customized to make things "safer". The unit has 2 of each. It can do up to just over 100m depending on mix.

cool, I'm all about safety...and baby angels, lol, or rare, oddball, hybrid angels/triggers you may come across wearing that rig or your ccr rig....
