My visit to a LFS in Germany

Speckled Grouper

Sticks Suck!
This store opened just 2 months ago and, according to the manager, is operating under a brand new concept and will give a lot of the competition a run for their money. Considering that during my last visit in May I couldn't even find a decent store to visit in Frankfurt, I kinda believe him....

The entrance (reminds me of Jurassic Park, don't it?)

Tropic Marin - the dominant brand.

Saltwater and RO - a bit expensive

But this is outrageous ( 1 Euro is $ 1.42 $ US)

The newest and greatest controller, they give away the main unit and sell the upgrades, complete with an activated dedicated cell phone that tracks you down if something goes wrong with your tank.

Lots of bulbs
IMG_1451.jpg

Red Sea Max, not very popular according to the manager because of the heat it generates (remember, A/C is unknown to Germans...)

OK, now to the Livestock

All SPS frags are aquacultured

Great pics, thanks. I love seeing that Turnpike, too... just another minute or two you'll hear those tires burn.

Cool, how far is this from Stuttgart? I may go there in the near future.

Stuttgart is about 2 to 2 1/2 hours south of Frankfurt. But I'm sure you would be flying into Frankfurt anyways.

Nice, when did you go? are those prices Euros? that is pretty expensive.

I got back a week ago. Did you do the math on the Water?

One Liter Saltwater costs .39 Euros, that's about $ 2.21 a gallon!
Ouch!

Wow great pictures, That store looks amazing. Is that typical of the German FS's or is that the exception? Maybe its like there version of BigAls (but nicer). I thought it interesting how nice and orderly everything was. The frags looked nice too..

BTW, isn't that about $.54/gallon (.39 x 1.3702 = .534)
