My Vivaria

I'm in the process of setting up my first vivarium. I'm looking for the cork pieces to use as the facing for the eggrate and the fern to use as the background. Does anyone have extras that they would be willing to trade for some coral? A question about soil, what kind should I use and how deep should it be?

I would not use soild, but a vivarium mix would best. i don't have any fern, but i do have some small peices of cork tubes you are more then welcomed to have.

Is a vivarium mix something I can find locally or is it easier to just order? Thank you for your offer of the cork tubes. If you want to PM me your paypal I will gladly pay for shipping and your time.

you should be able to find a vivarium mix at a local pet store like Petland or Petco they will carry it, make sure you don't get anything with cedar in it though.

I haven’t seen a post in this thread for awhile. After discovering it I was motivated to build my own Vivarium. I don’t have any pics yet but it’s been running for a few months with just the plants. I’m getting ready to add some frogs. I’m wondering if there is anyone out there who breeds their own frogs who would be willing to do a trade of frogs for corals?

I'm curious as to whether or not anyone else went through with their vivariums since a few said they were going to, and also if shyland finished his classroom vivarium and has pics, so here is a few of pics from my viv inspired by this thread that has grown in nicely now.

I did finish, I've been waiting for the plants to grow out and I'm going to hopefully add frogs right after Christmas. I'll try to remember to bring a camera to school tomorrow and take pics. your tank looks great, i hope mine grows in that well.

Updates hmm.. all frogs doing well and breeding, raising out froglets and other new acquisitions, otherwise having a good time in a world with less maintenance than saltwater. More random photos..

Mike - I see you have a number of different species (frogs). Are they each in their own vivarium or can you have more than one species to a "tank?"
