My Votech slows down

I have noticed that my pump slows down when i its highest setting. I have noticed this because i can hear it get louder and also y wave gets less intense. any thoughts??

In pulse mode i will set the speed to the maxium setting and after i set it and its been pulsing for a while it will slowly loose speed, meaning it wont reach the speed i set it to. I have noticed that while in pulse mod it will stutter. I wont keep a constant temp or rate, which in turns messes up my wave when i can get one going.

Also when its at a constant speed at the highest speed it will slow down and speed up, it wont maintain that highest speed

Hi jshuste-

What setting is the frequency? It is a very fast pulse? If the pulse is extremely fast it is possible for the pump not to hit the maximum speed in between acceleration pulses. However it's not usually a super common thing, just occasional and doesn't really affect anything. The longer the pulse frequency the easier for the pump to make perfect smooth transitions between min and max.

i have the frequency so that it pulses about every second. If i allow it to pulse too fast and not reach its max speed i will not get a wave in my 90 gal. however i can get a wave but the pump will at times not hit that highest speed and my wave will go away. I have also noticed this at constant speed. i can actually hear it speed up and slow down.

At constant speed, you are witnessing marginal changes in speed as a result of the pump continuously adjusting itself to maintain a constant speed despite changing loads and conditions. Closed loop refers to the fact that we are controlling the pump at fixed speeds while monitoring other criteria.

The changes in pulsing are a result of the pump having fixed acceleration and fixed go-to speeds, but in between pulses sometimes the RPM's don't drop as fast as other times resulting in periodic missed pulses. It's software, and incredibly complicated software at that.

sounds complicated, i was just wondering my if m pump or driver had a problem. Given that fact that it adjust speeds do you think that is a down fall of keeping a good steady strong wave? Is there anything i can do to adjust to this?

Doesn't sound like your unit is having any problems. A longer pulse length will solve it, but a wave periodically collapsing is really not too big a deal anyway.
