Mycedium chalice blister/bubble???

I have a chalice that has been doing something wonky for quite awhile now. Around one mouth, there is a transparent/translucent blister or water-filled bubble that expands and contracts to different extents. It feels firm to the touch, and if you poke it, it will partially deflate in response, but it never fully retracts this growth back into it's body. Initially, I thought it may have been producing some kind of a bud that would eventually detach, but this growth has been in place for nearly 6 months now. Lights are off right now, so I can't snap a picture, but will do in a bit when the lights come on.

Any ideas?

Here's a quickie phone picture - colors are terrible, but you can see the structure. Any ideas???

It's a hernia. Something must've damaged the hard body so the soft under tissue expands unrestricted. I would cut it off because with the bubble swaying back and forth it will keep pulling up more tissue and slowly damage the coral further.

Here's my bubblegum monster chalice with the same situation.

I tried popping it and it always healed and the bubble came right back. I would take a scissor to it and cut off as much of the bubble as you can. That's what I did.

I cut the entire blister off with a pair of scissors yesterday. It looked as if the area below the blister was nearly bare of flesh - it's almost like that polyp was inverted or inside-out. This morning the bare part of the skeleton is already almost covered with tissue, so looks good. Thanks for the input BillyC.

I cut a bubble out of chalice with an exact knife then cracked off the damaged skeleton underneath it should heal fine and you might get some odd interesting plate formation around the spot.
