Mystery Clicking ?

I have had this Fiji rock for over 2 years and in that time just about every night there is a loud clicking noise at night ... the other inhabitants are a pair of cleaner shrimp / pair of Peppermint shrimp / Coral Banded Shrimp ... and a bunch of fish as well

Thing is that I have NEVER seen the source of the clicking noise ... stayed up late peering into the tank at nite ( nada )

made the pop bottle trap and all I caught was the peppermints

sometimes the clicking can be heard with lights on just after feeding

Question to you Stomatopod ( sp? ) experts ... could my Coral Banded shrimp be making these noises because he and a clown are the only other residents that have been there the whole time ?

probably not a mantis

i would think with a mantis, all those little defense-less shrimp would disappear quickly

If not a Mantis then ... pistol shrimp right ? ... anything else make a clicking noise that anyone can think of ?

My mantis holes up at night, but my pistol clicks throught the night.
