Check this fish out guys. It has been a long time since I have seen anyone post this fish. This one showed up at b-box in Japan.

I hope they make a video, as they usually do!

That's a very cool looking fish. I'd always be leery about spending that much on a fish that is a master at finding the tiniest hole to jump through. But I can definitely understand the temptation.

From what I had read, this fish is very different from the normal N. helfrichi. It also grows to a much larger size. How come these are so far and few in between?

It looks angry, and I wouldn't pay 20 bucks for it, just not my cup of tea. But I have fish others don't like, to each their own.

Stunning! Don't fire fish have a pretty short life expectancy? Like 2-3 yrs? I wonder if this variety lives longer?

Cook islands fish were MIA for a long time and so far they are only from the cooks, and supposedly very deep.

Helfrichi are one of my favorite fish of all time. !
