hey naka just wondering if you found anything out about the new acls. Thanks!
Thanks everyone for all the kind words. Lenny, I found out that the new ACLS has few extra functions such as T5 override button. You can send your old one in to get the new software upgrade, but I'm pretty happy w/ mine.

Thanks,

James

Naka, Beautiful setup!! I'm getting ready to do my dream tank setup this year, and I've decided on the ACLS as well as the Sfiligoi lighting.
I also hope to order my tank from Aquarium Obsessed.

I really admire the lack of plumbing in the tank. I see that you have gone through the bottom of the tank for your return... What is your regime in case of a power outage? Do you rely on a check valve? Perhaps you only have the closed loop going through the bottom and the return is higher up in the tank?

Thanks for all the photos and inspiration! I recently super-charged my RO/DI setup with a booster pump, and it's night and day! I've placed a lot of emphasis on my RO/DI setup during my last move, and it's been a tremendous upgrade.

regards,

Rob

Congrats Rob, you're going to fall in love w/ the Sfiligoi lights. Sunrise and sunset effects are really something to see. I recommend you set the sunrise to 15 min and sunset to 30. Longer time will put a lot of stress on your MH bulbs. That was recommended by Mr. Sfiligoi himself Allessandro from MACNA.

Plumbing is done all on the bottom w/ CL. The 2 black loc-line is the return from Eheim 1260, and I don't have any check valves. I also added 1 Ecotech Vortec pump on the left side of my tank to give more flow for my sps. I'll take a full tank shot later.

I couldn't agree w/ you more on you RO/DI setup. I think it's the most important part of my reef tank. I have to thank jdieck (Jose) for helping me design my RO/DI. If you have anymore questions, just email me. naka8899@aol.com

Thanks,

James

James... Impressive to say the least!!! Your tank is just amazing. Just love the clean look of your system and I know what you mean about the important of a good RO/DI unit. Here is a pic of mine.

What is the Black round thing on the very top of the RO ?

I'm not Typhon, but it's a permeate pump. It produces hydraulic force from the waste water. They're generally used with pressure tanks to reduce TDS creep. I'm sure Typhon has a tank just below the bottom of the photo.

Naka, thanks! I'm sure I will have some questions. Again, thanks for sharing. I look forward to seeing your tank mature. You've chosen some amazing specimens.

Naka,

Is that a custom stand, where can I get one.....awsome tank.

Jeff
Oops, sorry I didn't answer your question Jeff. The same company who built my tank built the stand. They outsource it out to custom carpenter. It also comes w/ 5 year warranty on the tank if you purchase their stand, so it was a no brainer for me.
