naked black ocellaris

anybody ever tried breeding a black ocellaris with a naked ocellaris to try and get a naked black ocellaris? Basicaly a completely black ocellaris clown. This is somthing I would like to try in the future.

Its already been done and they will be on the market within 6 months. ORA just had their first batch a few weeks ago, however they aren't done by breeding blacks with nakeds. How they get the different variations is by breeding the mutations. Nakeds, snowflakes, platnum and the black nakes have all been "made" by breeding the mutations togeather for years. Basicly the mis-bars are bread togeather and some of the young are extreme mis-bars, keep breeding them togeather and you will end up with nakeds. Nakeds breed about 50% true, the other 50% a either misbars or just regular false perculas.

I knew they were going to be the ones to get it.I had thought about the platinum and extrem mis bar black occelaris.

this is one reason why marine fish breeding has made such small progress

Look at the auto industry.... Little has changed, except electronics, in 100 years. Innovation is not a socialistic act when there is $$$ to be made (billions in the auto industry). Capitalism is the driving force.

Little has changed in the auto industry? You can't be serious.. I don't remember any Model A's that were fly by wire or had aluminum engines or ran on hybrid gas / electric motors or did 250mph or could park them selves or had GPS nav or bluetooth or or or... I can't think of anything that hasn't changed about cars in the last 100 years... Safety / performance / looks.. The wheels are still round I guess... Not wood anymore though.

The manufacturing process methodology has changed little. My company has been in it for 105years and we have changed our manufacturing ways very little in that time. My point was cars are manufactured very crudely as they were 100+ years ago and no one OEM will divulge their secrets to production. You can argue all you want about the 'little change' statement, as this is my opinion from working with it everyday.

You said "Look at the auto industry.... Little has changed, except electronics, in 100 years"

Manufacturing processes maybe haven't changed that much and I agree. (with my little knowledge of actual processes) The cars themselves are very different. This is from my experience fixing cars for 20+ years.

Rkelman I also work on cars and Im pretty sure that EVERY aspect of the auto industry has changed, sales and Intl involvement, Development with computers, production with robotic arms, performance of the cars with turbo or other forms, cleaner burning fuel. A lot if not everything has changed in the past 30 year let alone 100. The harmful emissions given of by a car in the 1970s is equal to that of 20+ non hybrid cars made in the 2000s. Because of capitalism and humanitarianism efforts all our technologies have changed in some aspect especially in the reef hobby. IMO

I demand pics :)

I too would like to see pictures...
of the clownfish, that is - not the automotive manufacturing secrets:hmm4:

Dug this up from the valley.....

Any updates on the naked black?

Would it be considered as the "midnight" clown?

They do look a little cloudy and not stark black, just curious.
The only one I saw in person was @ That Fish Place
It is very small, about 1 1/2 inch and not healthy, cost is extreme for the solo.Has some dirty orange in around the face, perhaps a chocolately brown.
