Nano Calcium Reactor

Bower23

Here is a quick rundown of how a reactor works.........

the reaction chamber holds a calcium based media. This reaction chamber is filled with system water by a feed pump. There is a circulation pump on the reactor that circulates this system water from bottom to top and back again in a continuous loop inside the reaction chamber exposing the system water to the media. Slowly you add Co2 to the reactor and this lowers the pH of the system water circulating within the reaction chamber in a continuous loop. The system water (now with lower pH) slowly dissolves the calcium based media. So now what you have is system water that is loaded with calcium from the dissolving media inside. You bleed this off to your main tank and add this calcium rich water to your system so your corals and other calcium based organisms can utilize it. This all happens slowly and continuously. The objective is to match the reactor output (calcium rich water) with the rate that your system uses the calcium up so that there is constant supply equal to demand and you end up with a balanced, stabile system in this regard.

ya theres no need for that..but its not my tank sooo...

people get so involved with all the equiment... all u need is water changes and test ur water once in a while.. at least for ur nano

but not my tank soo. good luck

Holy crap, I never knew one of these existed! I just spent $700 on a Liter Meter 3 dosing pump for B-Ionic because my SPS's are sucking up so much alk/calc in my 18g, and now I see this :mad2:

Here is a picture of my nano that the reactor is going on. The tank was also built by the same individual that is building the reactor.
