Nano HQI

I am currently waiting to receive my Nano Cube 28g HQI and after much reading on the HQI thread......I have found out about the upgraded light hood. I see the one that has the halide and moon lights, but has added actinics. I went to Nano customs.com and saw these lights.....however....are they really $500 and $600 for this upgraded lighting hood? I just cant see that being right.....thats how much the tank and stand cost together! Any input or other places to find it would be great!! Thanks


Also ....can I see some pictures of how people have fuges setup in the back compartments?

the whole setup is that price....everything + the actintic upgrade.

is there a way to just purchase the hood with the actinic upgrade? i have already bought the tank with just the regular halide and moon light setup?

You can buy the retrofit actinic but you have to put it in yourself. It may not make much of a difference if you just get a different bulb. Some people use 20k radiums and xms and dont use the actinics anymore.

Or you can mail your hood to them for them to install the upgrade. They do great work, have done a lot of business with them before.

nanotuners are too expensive for my taste. i just got a 150w coralife hob light.

I see the retrofit upgrade is only 70$.....i dont mind paying that....but how easy is it to install? I have installed a retrofit for a massive 150 gallon that I am running and it has 3-150w Halides and 4 actinic strips.....so im guessing I can handle installing this......I am debating just sending mine in for them to do the work?! Ill find out how much they charge.
