Nano lighting upgrade

Our bulbs on our 12 gal aquapod are due for replacement. Fan is screaming loud and annoying.

I also wanted to upgrade but not wanting to get in to deep with this setup.

Future plans for possibly a 24 gal Aquapod with a sunpod 150w HQI

So I decided to try a DIY kit from Nanotuners. No huge changes, upgrade to dual 32w bulbs/ballasts and dual 60mm vantec high flow ball bearing fans. With any luck I'll have it and will be installed before this weekend.

Shucks...

I have a 20inch corallife aqualight for sale.. 96 watts...

That might have worked for ya :p

Lakeside,

did you order a second fan, theire is room for a second fan, i would highly recommend adding it, especially with increased lighting. Thats what i did on mine, if you need help, PM Me.

thats not that bad, i payed 20 bucks to upgrade my fans alone, figure in the cost of bulbs and the fact that your getting more light, thats a pretty good deal. Let me know how it works out, maybe ill do the same in a couple months when bulbs need replacing.

Tracking states delivery for Nov. 11th. Shipping from CA
So that won't be finished by Sat. I'll post pics next week

The kit just showed up. Very nice. I'll get to it tomorrow. Take before and after pics for you to see.

Lakeside,
Looks nice. I love the big sarco! Have you cut out the fan vents on the inside of the canopy? It helps a lot with temp and air flow. I have to say...I can't wait to get a big tank but I'm having a lot of fun with my 12 gallon now.

I was tempted to enlarge the air inlets but decided to not get carried away. I didn't want to hack it up. If anything i probably would drill a couple holes for a cleaner look.

Its hard to tell i guess in the pics the differance in color and brightness but inperson it is a big change. The new bulbs pretty much cover the full width of the tank. With just the actinics on it looks awesome. I wish i could find a 32w 03 actinic bulb but i can't. I don't care for the purple, its not exactly a bright spectrum.
