i know, im not sure if you think i'm stupid but I am just trying to gather interest from reefers who want to join in on a fun contest. I am not concerned on what site I post. Is this merely a competition for posts among reef sites? Who cares? I am just trying to get in on a contest for fun.

I never liked NR's contests. I left the site when they did their first one. I don't think it is a good idea to have a contest for who can slap together the best tank in 3 months. A good reef aquarium takes years to be successful. I think its setting a bad example and teaching bad habits for many nano-reefers.

Yes and no. there are many variables to consider.

The experience of the reefer is probably the biggest.
Budget
Livestock - if you are going to use live rock and stock from an existing aquarium you can forgo a lot of the waiting/curing/cycling/etc periods.

Now starting a reef from absolutely the ground up - Iââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢d say the 6 month mark is crucial. At that point you should have a stable biome and be able to see growth.

I agree with yoda, and for be honest with you that contest is more like a who know more people contest that a real, reef contest. and its not you are not stupid is that you just have to respect other websites, just my .02c
