If your referring to the yellow milli, the LFS did'nt have a name for it.It was just a half dead, browned out stick with algae growing all over the dead tissue.

It has bright orange corralites instead of green,so i assume it's a sunshine milli.

I'm using a Koralia 4, 1, and nano with a Mag3 return pump. I'm opening up the 65 tomorrow, and I'll be using 2 tunze nano streams. I like a TON of flow. :)

Will pumping 1700 GPH in my 2 x 2 x 2 be OD?

That depends upon what you intend to keep in the tank and how well the flow is directed.

Right now I have 2 modified Tunze 6025s at around 1100-1200GPH each and the return from behind my false wall at around 200GPH (total of around 2500GPH) in a BB SPS tank that has a display that measures 24 x 18 x 18 (around 30 gallons). I still have detritus settling in places on the LR and in one corner of the tank. At this point I have my LR cooking in a Rubbermaid and I'm going to ditch the Tunzes because I'm sick of their lack of reliable performance in exchange for a Vortech MP20. The total GPH will be less but I'm expecting that the randomized cycles on reefcrest mode will keep things suspended more.

Why did your tunze crap out? I thought there were great pumps.

The vortech seems hype to me, but it's concept and mode looks good, but the cost seems too much for me right now.

I am hoping the stream 2 would be better. I had the 1st gen ones and it was great except when algae film got into the strainer.

Aside from the known clip issues that seem to have been resolved on the Nanostreams, I've now had the drive shaft that the impeller slides over break loose on both pumps. To this point I've had to replace the clips on both pumps twice and now the shaft on both. As great as Roger is for providing support in the US, we don't get that kind of service in Canada and therefore Tunze doesn't exactly provide anything that even remotely resembles "customer service" in Canada. So the lack of reliability and poor customer service makes Tunze a waste of money up here in my opinion.

Sorry about that. Maybe something can be done or someone can help out.

Heat is an issue w/ my tank and I don't want too much pump. I'm leaning very much on the 1700 gph. and would try position it on one end.

Correction to my last post: I'm using two Tunze Nano Wave Boxes in my 65.

Wind: I don't think that would be too much flow. Right now, the turnover rate in my 30 is in the upper 60's per hour. If you're keeping mostly SPS, then I think excellent flow is a must for the overall health of the animals.

rich- who made the tank above is that a finnex tank??? Looks nice what lighting did you have over it???

Rich seems to have missed this one so I'll take a stab. I'm pretty sure its a finnex as that poor tank has been floating around CT looking for a new home ever since Rich broke it down. I just dropped it off as a favor to machiaveli and he's loading it up with goodies so I think its back in action. I hadn't seen a finnex before this one and I have to say its a very nice system.

I think Rich was running T5's over it last I knew.

HTHs.

ctreefer your tank is awesome. You should enter in the nano tank of the month thread (nano reef forum)

Thanks for the comment, I think its a long way from being NTOTM quality at the moment. Some of these nanos are really really nice.
