Nano Streams, When Can We Get Them?

Roger,
I have a question on the mounting, I know it uses a magnet but can this be submerged. The reason I ask is I want to put the magnet in my external overflow and the nano in the tank. Where is the wiring coming off of these at since they seem to me like they rotate 360degrees.
Any idea if they will have alignment issues like they had with the Vortech's?

Has Tunze thought about a rock or a converstion type setup for adding these to the existing rock they sell?
Just tought I would ask as I want to keep the tank as clutter free as I can. Speaking of that how do most people hide the wires to the streams and such?

Would you recommend the 6055's for a 210 with mostly softies and LPS, with some SPS. I'm trying to weigh the odds of these or going with the 6000's

Thanks for your help

The magnet can be submerged. The cable comes off the top of the pump. It is a traditional mag drive pump, just in miniature, so there is no possibility of alignment issues.

An adapter for the esisting stream rock is possible as it is a standard metric PVC fitting. We also plan a Nano Stream rock. I wouldn't get too into hiding them, they need to be cleaned every 3-6 months and it isn't wise to make this too difficult.

Honestly, I would get the 6000's. I would get the 6000's because a 210 will often require 6100's as things grow in and coral choices change and this gives you the ability to upgrade. I think the 6055 is just not enough for such a large tank, beyond a 120 I would consider them only as supplemental flow.

I was told the first shipment would leave next week and they should arrive at our warehouse the following week, it will be a small air shipment. They are behind and so they are going to send them by air as they are made, probably 50 a day or so. They will also be without the small grid that covers the outlet as the mold wasn't ready in time. These will follow later and anyone who gets one of these first pumps and feels they need it, only needs to contact me and I will send it when they arrive.

Is this the little X grid? Will you warranty against chopped up fish, or are these so powerful that any fish that gets in really wanted to die.

It is a grid that looks like a windowscreen with holes that are about 7.5mm squared. The outlet is only about 1.5" so pretty tough for most fish to enter, but I cannot warranty your fish. If it won't work for you it will be best to wait until they ship with screens or until I can send a screen, I have a few crude screen prototypes here. We are trying the best we can to get the product out without further delays and for most people this will not be an issue.

I cannot promise that, the screen will not really make any advantage for anemones as they cannot really enter the intake, that is mainly protection for fish and crabs and snails. The danger to an anemone is getting sucked into the intake which is basically the slots in the pump housing, I would consider it unlikely but definitely not impossible.

No one will have them yet, they arrive here likely on Thursday and we will ship them to just about every dealer we have within a few days, every major Tunze dealer will have them by the end of next week.

I have a 36" 30 gallon sps tank with 4 returns off of a mag 12. Although I have a good bit of flow, I still have deadspots primarily because the dispersion of the flow is too narrow. Would my tank be a good candidate for 2 6025s given I do have approx. 1.5 inches of sand on the bottom? Also, what orientation would be best? Would pointing them towards each other to obtain somewhat random flow cause water to splash out?

But in what quantity ? I heard that this was a rather small shipment, possibly only a handful for each dealer. :(

I'm setting up a 40 Breeder which I plan to stock with SPS and some Zoas. I would like to use 2 nano streams to add flow from the corners. I plan on controlling them with an Aquacontroller Jr. and cycling them on 30 minute intervals.

My question is which of the tunze streams would be my best option? I'm torn between the 6025 and 6045. I can't justify the extra money for the 6055.

Thanks,

Matt

In terms of a date, are you saying that the dealers will have them by November 10? Given how much time I've been waiting for these (along with everyone else!) I really hope they're as good as we think they'll be!

2 6025 would work well, they are easy to move and swivel, I would wait until you get them and aim them as you find works best.

Yes, baring any big delays from customs this should be the case. We have enough coming in that by the end of the month they should be in stock and readily available.

The 6055 is not going to be out until December, i suspect they will ship these before they close for the Christmas holidays.
