In Tunze's defence, I don't think I ever heard a "date" until recently (when Roger said he'd get the first shipment on Friday etc.)

I have learned that if a manufacturer says that X will be out mid-September, early November is more realistic. The people you pre-ordered from should have made that more clear. They regularly deal with suppliers and should have known better.

I've pre-ordered from J&L, and not only did I include the manufacturing fudge in my estimates, but also the delivery to Canada via express dog sled as well.

I think Roger has done a good job of keeping us up-to-date. I'm not sure why you say you've been waiting for 3 months. Roger's first post on this thread said they'd be out in late September. At most he's off by 1 or 1.5 months, not 3.

The alternative would be rushing to market something that wasn't quite ready. I have one of the first prototypes and I can tell you the difference in fit and finish from that unit to the final product is night and day. The front cover used to fall off on it's own, now the engineering is so precise they can exactly quatify the force to remove the cover at 45 Newtons. A lot of tooling had to be modified, plastics had to be changed and safety tests had to be done. We really did our homework on this one, the C clip that holds the pump is 100% lexan, this was not cheap but gave us a strength that no other plastic can match and these are the sort of things that take reepeated tests and time. I think in the future I just will not answer any questions about delivery dates, when it is here it is here.

Your post have been right on far as release dates go. This kind of short delay happens on kinds of products. If the product is not ready it is better to waite 5 months than put out a bad product.

I appreciate the continual updates from Roger as well. It is a little frustrating waiting for these to arrive, but it's much easier when you know the company is working on the release and the representative cares enough to keep us informed. And, R&D delays are usually measured in years, not weeks.

He could always do like most manufactures do. "The Tunze Streams will be released sometime in the forth quarter of 2006 or first quarter of 2007". That way you could wait another 5 or so months.

Personally, I thank Roger for keeping us up to date on things. I think he's done an excellent job, especially considering 90% of this isn't under his control. Placing a call to the plant... "CRANK up the assembly lines, the Americans are getting squirrelly!"

Which vendors have waiting lists for the 6025?The sites I've been to say "sold out" and don't appear to be taking any names for any type of waiting list.

What nanostream would you recommend for my tank. Dimensions are 48"l x 18"w x 16"h. It has all sps and a 1" sand bed for looks only. I was thinking two 6055 on a controller would this be to much for my tank? Please let me know what you think before I jump on a waiting list. Thanks.

I know at J&L they set it up on their site as "Backordered" and will ship them as fast as they get them. Premium has set up a waitlist.

Well I have placed my pre-order the other day for 2 ea. 6055, the y adaptor, electric eye and single controller.

Are these the correct parts to order? I didn't want to spend the money on the multi-controller.

I'm assuming I can control both of the 6055's with the single controller using the Y adaptor. I also want to slow them down at night with the electric eye. Do I need 2 of these or will 1 work through the y adaptor to control both pumps?

Please advise.

I am loking to get two 6025's for my 2'x2'x16' acrylic tank. My problem is that the sides are 3/4' acrylic and the magnets for the nanostreams are rated for 1/2". What other mounting options do I have?

Hey Roger I am thinking of replacing my 3 x6200's with 6 of the 6055's . What would be the best option for controlling all of them ?

I currently have 3x6100's,3x6200's,wavebox+controller,7095 ,7092.34 y adapter and 1 single controller on my 180g BB 6x2x2 tank. The 6200's are real strong and I was hoping to reduce velocity while increasing flow into all the little areas.

I bought two 6025s in Austin today; they're in my 50 gallon corner. They're pretty cool, good general flow with no real high velocity areas. I could probably handle the 6045s, and so will get a pair of those as well when they come out. I don't have a camera if you can believe it so photos are not possible. But, to give those wondering about how much flow these things put out in a small-medium tank, I can describe it. Mine are about 34" apart in the corners of a pentagon corner tank. They're point right to the middle of the tank, slightly down. There's definitely less fast laminer flow right in front of the pumps than with the maxijets they replaced; I've got some milliporas about 8" right in front of the streams and there's no problem. No sand storm; I've got a 45" SD bed, water depth over the sand is 16". If I were going to rely on the streams for primary flow in a 40 breeder, I'd want to try the 6045s for SPS, but these would be great for a mixed reef where you want some gentle spots for LPS and/or clams.

Hey Pat,
I don't think that you can control two pumps with the single controller. If that were possible, people would be doing this with their other pumps as well. I think the Y adapter only works with the multicontroller.

I have used the Y on a single controller worked fine . Both pumps did the same thing.

True, but what I meant to say was that you may not be able to control them independently.

That makes sense, I didn't anticipate being able to control them independently with the single controller. I anticipated that they would be controlled the same. That's fine as far as I am concerned.

You can only run 8 pumps on a 7095 and I am not sure I would do this as two 6055 is less flow than one 6100, it would be a big step down in total flow, the 6055 covers a 4ft by 18" area.
