nano uv sterilizer?

A question has been on my mind since last night. Is an UV sterilizer nice to have? Do you keep yours running all the time or on an "as needed" situation. I've been debating whether or not to invest in one for a future 16G Nuvo tank.

This is what I was looking at:

Small enough to place behind the tank compartment of the Nuvo 16 gallon.

Thoughts?

I have one in my NC28 and I run it all the time. Love not having to worry about unwanted disease. The only issue I have with the nanozapp is finding bulbs for it. They are hard to find and once you find them you usually wait months for them to get to you. So if you buy one buy a bunch of bulbs at the same time and store them. Krazie:jester:

UV sterilizers dont really do much of anything for our tanks. And is not a recommended method for disease control.

If you want to avoid getting diseases, get a QT tank.

A QT is and has been in the plans anyways. Not going to be one of those people that don't bother setting up a QT set-up. Been reading long enough to know better. :)

The reason I question myself on an UV sterilizer is use on a 'as needed basis' for algae control(?).

I know algae can be controlled with limiting the amount of feedings and lighting. I get that part.
