nano wavebox night mode

What does the night mode do to the wavebox? if it completely stops, does the nano wavebox have a safety fixture to keep fish and anything else out?

Does Tunze recommend using the night mode for waveboxes, if so what are the reaons? or is it just an extra feature?

The Nano wavebox has a screen with opening that are less than 1/4" square to prevent fish from entering, further it will turn one rotation every 20 seconds when off in night mode. The main purpose of nightmode on the waveboxes is to shut it off so you don't have to hear the noise while sleeping. You do hear a sort of breathing noise as well as the splash of the wave so in a bedroom or small apt you may want it off at night.
