nanocube 12 leaks around top rim

Has anyone documented a fix for the leak? Mine drips a good bit, and I've tried siliconing in the gap from the outside, but since there is already moisture under the lip, the silicone does not adhere perfectly and the water still finds a way out.

My next step was the drain the cube and silicone around the inside of the lip. Has anyone tried removing the trim, filling it with silicone, and then replacing it?

i have heard of using an air can as for computers while using the red straw tip and blowing from the inside of tank to the ouside. people have just drained 3-5in from top to repair/add silocone
