Nanocube 24 skimmer question

First post!

After searching and reading here for two weeks, I have learned a great deal. Thanks to all contributors. It seems more current than reading books, IMO.

Question: With lighting upgrades on the Nanocube 24 DX, particularly from nanotuners, can a sapphire protein skimmer still be used, or is there no room within the modded canopy? The website is confusing on this matter, and e-mails to the company are unanswered.

I apologize if this is an inappropriate question on this forum, but I know that there are plenty of Nano 24 owners out there.

Also, if keeping the stock canopy from JBJ, what are protein skimmer recommendations?

The sapphire works on my JBJ 12G and I have the NanoTuners 4x24 + the built in fuge light. They didnt change the hood just squeezed more light into the existing area.

I have the 108W upgrade on my nanocube 24 and while I don't have a saphire I have plenty of room for one.

Don't worry about e-mails without replies, sometimes a spam blocker or server problem might prevent them from going through. Give Chris at nanotuners a call, he's always helpful.

In your photo Gallery, I see a dish on the back wall inside the aquarium that appears to be a sink sponge holder? May I ask its purpose?

You're 24 Cube with the light upgrade is the show. I will search for other posts, but do you have a link or thread for your days during set-up? I am interested in what you chose to use in the back 3 chambers, and why.

It's a sponge holder, I just am using it for a short time to hold some zoa frags.
