Tonight we made a lot of progress with the tank. The salinity had been stable for several hours so we went ahead and started tearing down my 54 corner tank and adding the LR pieces from it that we wanted to keep.

After moving over most of the LR we tested the water and it was a tad high so we did not move over any live stock or corals from the 54. Hopefully in the next few days the levels will level out and we can move Oreo over. All of the LR has already been cured and running in my 54.

Sorry for the terrible photos, but I cannot figure out how to fix the white balance to make these show up better. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

This is with the canopy on and using my old 150w Coralife MH fixture. I'll be ordering my new MH's soon.

Close up of the rock work on the right hand side. I haven't finished moving over all of my LR and we only moved one red mushroom over to see how it did. All other corals are still in the other tanks.

Far away shot trying to figure out the lighting.

I really like this corner shot.

Another view. Still a bit cloudy but hardly any sand storm at all!

The good news is when the canopy was on we really liked the way the tank looked. I cannot wait to finish the transfer and get the new fixtures on order!

Is it hard to do?

Not really, all you do is cut the pins and make round circles of mesh. Put a few layers together ohhh say about 3 or 4 zip tie them and you are set. Easy as pie.:D Think of it like this you spend maybe like $5 at the most to get the skimmer to work better, oppose to buying the euro impeller.

I'm curious about the mesh mod as well. Where can you buy the mesh? The only place I've seen linked is this. $29 plus shipping seems a bit pricey when you only need a tiny bit of mesh.

Off topic, but don't you sleep?

Yea.. most of the time. I was up 36 hours straight.. too much going on... i got some rest today though :)

Here are a couple shots of the tank after clearing over night. The water is starting to look pretty clear. The levels are still high so we are going to have to wait a few more days. Ammonia has dropped to zero so we are waiting on the nitrites and nitrates to go down. Mushroom is still going strong though lol.

As you can tell, my camera skills did not improve over night :)

Very nice tank. Good job!

Which LFS do you go to in VA?

Thanks :) I used to live in Centreville it's a great area. I miss it.

We mainly goto Marine Scene for corals & fish and Wally's for aquariums and stands.

We also shop a lot at Centreville Aquarium. We're friends with Dave and he just gave us a great deal on our Modern Stand and Canopy. Now that he has his new section open for this tanks and setups, it's a very nice place to shop and take a look at some really beautiful setups. He also has a small selection of nice looking marine fish and a few corals, inverts & live rock.

hello nano. setup looks great. i tagged along on your last thread, so i thought i would see how your making out. i think you should get 2 6100 and a multi controller.. only because you will prob get a 150 in a few months

When we get the 120 we'll probably keep this tank up for mostly corals and use the 120 to move the zebra eel and a few tangs. We were supposed to be moving end of dec (getting a house built) but that got delayed so we decided to just go with the 75 for now.

NanoGurl man you guys get a buch of stuff cheap. I looked at the fins website and $15 for a lord head:eek2: ... Hmmm gives me some ideas to road trip :p

Sorry too funny how you worded this. LOL He "pounced my butt from behind" it late and maybe I found that too funny...but funny indeed.

Set up is looking great. You've made some nice progress and looks like you are getting things figured out.

He does! He loves to jump up on you, especially when you turn your back to him. I'll get a photo of him doing it to show you it's funny!

Thanks :)
