Memorial Day Update!

I hope everyone had a fun and safe Memorial Day Weekend!

We spent today at my bf's parents house having a cookout. The cool part is that his dad has a bunch of foxes living in his back yard. What makes this unique is they are right in a suburban development, not out in the countryside or away from people.

A couple of years ago we had a really bad storm that blue down a huge tree in his backyard. When it fell over, it made a huge whole in the ground, which his dad then covered with a bunch of sticks and wood debris.. making it the perfect fox den!

Last year a pair of foxes moved in. This spring they had six baby foxes born and they are the cutest thing ever! His dad fixes them chicken for dinner all the time and puts it out on paper plates. The foxes come out everynight and run down the path to get their chicken and drink of water.

They are so cute to watch run and play. Here are some photos for you to see. They are now a couple of months old.

Once in awhile during the day they come out and lay in the sun.

Those fox pics are awesome. They look so cute and cuddly, but they'll rip your face clean off if you're not careful.

They obviously have no pet rabbits :lol:. Amazing creatures, but can be viscious. Still cute though.

Thanks Yea, it's really odd that this is in the back of his house. You'd think it was some exotic location... nope!

Thanks Aww.. so far they are nice. His dad sits on the patio and they come down within like 10 feet of him to eat sometimes... he was telling us that a few days ago the one grabbed a piece of chicken and walked right past him about five feet from him and went under the house.. ate the chicken.. came back out... walked past him and turned around and looked at him like to say thanks for the chicken then left lol.

Nope, no wabbits! I'm allergic to them. No chickens either.. but I did use to have some! LoL

This is so weird... last night I woke up to a weird noise outside. Opened up my patio door and a BIG coyote was standing maybe 5 feet away eating something (what I hope was not a neighbors cat). I live in the center of Tucson, and from what I've heard foxes and coyotes are now more common in city limits than outside (more food available). Regardless, very cool photos. I agree they look like professional shoots from the countryside.

Thanks NG. Very helpful. I may use a similar setup for a t5 fixture. The only differnce being that it will sit ontop of the tank, so I'll probably have to notch the PVC to keep it stable.
