Is that the AGA Modern series stand you have your tank on? I am considering getting that stand or one of the AGA Mission series stands for a 120 gallon. How's the quality of the stand? Is it holding up okay?

Thanks. Your tank looks great.

Aaron

Thanks!

Yea, it's the AGA Modern series. I like it. The quality is good enough. It's not worth the price tag for sure, but it's better quality then the black pine which we originally were going to use.

The one thing to be very careful with the Modern series is lighting. If you want to use MH it will be difficult, the canopy is a bit too shallow for that to do right. I believe the Mission series is much higher, and would allow the bulbs to be higher off the water. T5's or VHO's would be fine.

One thing I really like about the Modern series is the tank is set down into the stand, hiding the black trim on the bottom. I thought that looked much nicer then the regular pine.

ditto spleen93's response regarding the nanos...Roger is highly professional and responsive to issues in Tunze's products. His responsiveness is one reason I opted for spending the money on a quality powerhead (though the first line of them when the kinks were getting worked out)
Matt

Okay, thank you! I will def post my problems and see if he can help. I'll update the thread once I know what's going on!

The reason why I went with the Tunze is everyone said how high quality their stuff was. That was one of the reasons I was so disappointed.

Hey NG, I love your threads. You take the photo thing to the entertainment level and you seem to understand it well. It's nice to see your love for animals and things, good work gurl.

If I missed this I am sorry . . .what camera do you use? I seem to be camera illiterate or maybe photo illiterate and think maybe a nice camera will forgive me a bit.

Thanks =)

I use the Nikon D50. It's a good camera. I like it, but don't love it. I would look closely at some of the Cannon cameras people have been using to take some incredible photos. That is going to be my next one! I will keep the D50 for vacations and such, that way if i lose it or break it I won't ruin my better camera.

Tuesday Update!

I did another 5g flatworm siphon today while waiting to goto the airport. I didn't see much of a dent in the FW population when I started.. but hopefully after today it will start to go down. So far I've taken out three 5g buckets of water with flatworms. Looks like there are probably a couple thousand in each bucket? Idk but a ton!

I have seen my mandarin eating them.. but there are just way too many. Even with the six line there are just way too many.

I hate Flatworms!

What size tubing are you using to drain out so much water? When I had to do this in my 55g, I used 1/4" or maybe 3/16" airline tubing, and I'd get out a bunch in a gallon or two. I did pinch the tubing as I worked to stop the flow when I was looking for the next patch of flatworms.

I think it's the 1/8" standard airline tubing. Not sure exactly. It took about 20 minutes for it to suck up to fill the bucket.

Introducing Paradox! My new Platinum White Mosaic male!

Okay, I just had to post a few photos of him! I just got him tonight. I had to goto the airport and pick him up. His flight was supposed to come in at 5pm but was delayed due to weather and didn't arrive until 10:30pm. It was almost midnight by the time we got home!

He's so worth it though! For those of you who followed my nano and 54 threads, this is the glider that I sold them for to help pay for the cost of him.

wow, those things are cute, I'm always amazed! Flatworms suck. I finally had to give up and use FWE, and I ended up being very comfortable doing it. Sweet tank BTW

Never saw one of those in a reef tank before.

You have to look closely... at night... under moonlights. They are nocturnal and you won't see them with the halides on =)

LoL! No, an old parrot pried those bars apart... that cage is just a temp cage. His new one arrives on Thursday and I'll set him up in there then.

But he is a hottie! Watch out girls!!! =)

WOW! Strong little bugger! Cool lookin too! Congratulations NG.

Thanks! =) They have really strong back feet they can hangon with only one foot upside down and turn their bodies all over. That's one sign you know you have a healthy glider... they can hold on with only a foot.

Thanks! =)

Yea, umm he is doing great. The 3 dips is the way to go with the whole black ich thing. After that though he started getting what I thought was a very, I stress very small case of HLLE, which I think was due to the stress of being dipped and so forth. I beefed up his vitamins, algae sheets, and bought some spectrum food. That very small area has completely healed and he is doing great.
As far as the aggression, he has leveled off a some. He still is chasing lucky (clownfish), but, I don't know maybe he just wasn't feeling well because its not near as much now. Thanks for asking, how is Ocean? BTW, have you posted your full tank shot in my full tank shot thread? I don't remember seeing it?
