nanostream on a sea swirl

I hear about people connecting their stream pumps to wavysea wavemakers. How do they do this? Would it be possible for me to connect my nanostream to my sea swirl? I figure I might be able to connect it with zip ties. Any suggestions?

I think the question is does the sea swirl have enough torque to to turn the nanostream? I believe that Wavyseas makes some heavy duty units that can even turn penductors. That is impressive, but I have not heard of such from sea swirl.

Keep us posted on what you do.

Good luck,
Chris

I am not sure, maybe someone else can chime in but it would probably be best to contact Sea Swirl.

This could end up being a sweet and easy mod. The sea swirl is working fine so far (only tried it out of water). I've only used 1 black zip tie. Sea swirl has not replied to my e-mails or answered the phone anytime I've called this week so customer service sucks. Here are some pics...

Hey Pico1, which store you work at? Any update on the thing? I know the nano puts a lot of back pressure against the holder when running under water, don't know if the sea swirl can handle it.

Pico1, I am sorry that you think our customer service sucks....but I have no record of either your email or phone message ????
We did receive one inaudible phone message last week...perhaps it was your call ???

Please shoot me an email @ cindy@sea-swirl.com w/your phone # and best time to call and Ed will give you a call to discuss your concerns.

Have a great monday......Cindy

Cindy, I did shoot an email to Ed but haven't got an answer yet, so I thought just to ask you here.

I have found people using the 1/2" Sea-Swirl with Seio1500 just fine so a small stream pump shouldn't be an issue, my question is can the Sea-Swirl be used as a rotational device only? I don't need it for pump feed return, just to run the nanostream. Also do you have mounting bracket that can mount the SW onto a horizontal glass center brace?

I believe a simple rotational deivce can be very popular.

I thought I read someone in the sea-swirl manual that you can't run it dry, I don't know if it need water going thru the nooze or can't run dry above water level.

tagging along, I am planing to use 2 x 6045 on my wavysea @ 180 degree rotation.

Excellent idea! If the SW can not run dry then my search for a variable flow solution starts all over again. Wavysea is just too much, I might as well get two 6055s.

BTW I don't know if you have read the Tunze Nano Mod thread, a 6025 will pump out the same flow as a 6045 after some simple mods.

I got a good deal on 6045s, only like 20-25 dollar more for each then 6025..why mod ?

For more flow. Both 6025 and 6045 can be modded to increase flow by 86% and 36% respectively.

BTW, Ed just returned my email, the SW can run dry so it should work.
