nanostreem...grrrr

I recently switched from korellias to nanostreem 6045? they are rated for ~1100gph, anyways, I have had nothing but problems

first of all, I can not run them with my wave timer

next, they do not always start after they have been shut down for feeding I have to reach in the tank with a toothpick and restart the impeller

next they just fall apart if i try to adjust them

then I had one of the clips just loosen up to where it would not hold the pump anymore, the clip just broke when I was trying to put the pump back in, I am holding it in place with live rock

finally I just got a call from 556wife, saying that one of my "blowers" ( a different one) is bouncing all over the tank and a chunk of (I am guessing the clip) is laying on my red cap... and I am stuck at work..not good!

seriously, I spent, for me, a healthy chunk of change on these. the only reasons I have been putting up with them is that I have $300 in to them and they are very small, but my korelias worked a lot better and had more divers flow... looks like i need to spend a bunch of money I don't have, right away and dump these...not happy... the Tunze name has been very well respected for years, but in MHO Tunze dropped the ball on this one

things just took a dramatic turn or the worse I returned home and began to triage the situation when i was interrupted by 556wife, apparently she had read this thread and informed me that: "if we have $300 for fish blowers, then I have $300 to go to the day spa" she went on to inform me that: "if we have money to replace the fish blowers, then I have money to have my hair tinted" I have no idea what tinting your hair mans, but I am sure it involves Fransisco, which is NEVER cheep, i am screwed

But looking back 10 years...I think in the long run it is "Cheaper to keep her"...as the song goes...

I know what your saying man.
I haven't been too impressed with my 6045 either.
The clips that hold the frame to the magnet keep breaking off.
I ended up siliconing it to the magnet. I don't have the restarting
problem like you though. I'd seriously contact the Tunze rep on this site and tell him your situation.

We had some problems with early versions of the pump but they have all been solved. If you send me the pumps I will replace any faulty parts. If you just need holder clips these were changed about a month ago to a more flexible plastic with thicker tabs. Just PM me your name and address and I can send the new ones.

Best of luck, I would suggest running a polyfilter and doing water changes.

i hace dONE A 30 GAL AND A 40 GAL IN THE LAST 12 HOURS... don't know where to get a polyfilter

Marine Depot has it, every local fish store I have ever worked at carried it as it is critical in an emergency like this. It is a special mat that absorbs toxins. Poly Filter is the actual brand name.

Sorry to hear about your tank and I hope all turns out well for you. As far as the nano streams I recently purchased 4 of the 6045's and I love them. Maybe I have the new batch???
