Here's message from Beaslbob:

Narcies:

Verdell and I are extremely honored, scared, and excited about hosting the club meeting in April.

Thought I had better do at least a little planning for the meeting at my house.

What does everyone think of 11:00 or noon kick off on April 21? We had something planned the first weekend and the second is tax weekend.

For things to do.

1) I'll do the smoked pork roast and ribs. along with more normal bbq for hot dogs. If you want other things like steaks please bring some. It would also be nice if someone could bring chairs, tables and so on.

2)Will need the usual fixings.

2) Feel free to shoot pool. Perhaps if you get a really desirable frag we could have a "lag for frag" contest.

3) I could demonstrate how to make up the diy two part. If someone would bring three gallon jars with ro/di water, they could leave with the made up solutions.

4) I found 3-4 bags of tropical play sand in my garage. And about 10 commercial electric shop lights with the electronic ballast. If anyone is interested.

5) We could play count the fish in the 10g.

6) I can hand out starter cultures of phyto and rotifers. If this is popular enough let me know so I can start some extra cultures.

7) we can watch tech topic dvds on the 55" TV. Hopefully someone will bring some. (DVDs that is,I already have the tv)

8) I can make copies of the dvds.

9) I can do a live demonstration on how to adjust a sump and a real live running aquarium.

10) you can see the most Internet flamed tank while there

11) I can give a short presentation with live test kit measurements on the beaslbob methods which resulted in being banned from 3 message boards.

Just some ideas.

Guess it would help if I gave a location.

Address is 214 foxwood circle, harvest, Al 35749

general location is about one mile north of hy 72 bout half way between wall trianna highway and where old railroad bed road becomes countly line road (at hy 72). As you travel on university west, it becomes hy 72 in madison.

If anyone has suggestions you can post in the thread as well as contacting me more directly at beaslbob@aol.com

Andrew told me this would be a must attend meeting. Consider desert covered ;)

temporary hi-jack

8ball it wasn't a mantis shrimp in my tank, it's a xanthid crab. He and his rock are currently sitting in a container of cold tap water trying to get him out.

Laughter and jokes throughout the day.

Of course feel free to come and leave whenever you like. I am just trying to
do a little planning.
I plan to do smoked pork roast and spare ribs. Sides and drink chips would
be appreciated. We may want to coordinate on reefcentral.

I do need to get a head count.

We also do not have a table and folding chairs. So if someone does and can
bring them at 10:30 to setup it would be appreciated. Otherwise I will have to
rent which is fine also.

So what you think? I guess the DVDs could be worked in there someplace.

I also have announcements at:

Beasl,
I will be glad to bring a folding table, but cannot be there at 10:30 - my little one has a game that morning. Could I bring it when we come? I can also bring two of those folding chairs that go into bags - not the table height kind. Let me know.

My wife and I will be there.I will have some frags to sell or trade .I also have a Koralia #3 that I want to sell .The pump works perfect.I just think its to much for my tank .I got it at John's in Feb.I would like $30 for it .I also would like to buy or trade for a 250W ballast magnetic or electric ether will be good .Here are some photos .PM me if u see anything U would like .

Michael,
Unclaimed Baggage in Scottsboro had a couple magnetic MH 250 W ballast, New in box, today. No enclosure. They were $25 each. They were in the annex building.

Is that a green mushroom the the top pic, lower left corner? And, what is that in the rear of the tank (top pic)?

I am planning to attent Saturday's event, but it will be w/out Mark, because he has to go to Birmingham for a dental class. One or two kids will be along if it is OK. I can bring a couple of long folding tables, and do you need slaw? hot dogs for kids? or dessert?

Does anyone need Cheato? I carried some to last meeting, only to leave it at the store because I had no taker. My fuge is in the window and the stuff grows like crazy, I have to throw it away every few weeks.

Lisa

I believe that beaslbob is loaded with Cheatomorpha. Unless you get a PM from someone asking for it, I think Bob has enough to go around (he usually bring a load of it to our meetings.)

Since Bob cannot post here (he's been kicked out of a few boards as he mentioned), I will help him get some information so he can see it here (he can see the messages.)

Let's have head counts.

Can we do an inventory on supplies, too?

We have two people bringing tables. I think two standard size tables (larger than a bridge table) probably be enough.

How about lawn chairs? I can bring an extra myself since Reilly will be out fishing on that day.

As for side dishes, we have Potato salad and a dessert (Lori and Steph.) Slaw is welcome, Lisa. I can bring some baked beans (I'd like to try to make Marybebo's great baked beans.)

Anyone up for a frag swap? Need some 2 parts ingredients?

Tomoko

A message from Beaslbob:

Yes I do have some chaeto.

I will be doing the two part and anyone is welcome to take the resulting mixtures.

You are welcome to take home the dry ingredients as well but please bring 3 pound coffee can or larger container which can be capped.

I have calcium chloride, magnesium chloride, Epson salts, and some baking soda.

From what I am hearing it looks like we will have about 8-10 people there. Just enough for my (who cares?) smoked pork roast and ribs. will also have BBQ going with sausages and buns.

Baked beans, potato(e) salad seem to be coming. Perhaps chips/dips will be nice.

I will provide some drinks as well.

I have phyto and rotifers expanded for your taking. 20 ounce soda bottles would be helpful for those.

My tanks include a 5 year old and 6 month old FW planted, 2 year old betta bowl a 1.5 year 29g softy with clowns, and my 5 year old 55g fish and softy tank. all use tap water and no water changes. I plan to give a very short talk on the basic ideas behind the tanks with simple easy live parameter measurements.

I will rent an 8' table and 8 folding chairs. So unless we get 20+ more guests we should have enough room.

Perhaps Steve can use his contacts to arrange nice weather. If not I will setup on our garage.

any question contact beaslbob@aol.com

Tomoko can you pass on to Bob that I have 2 tables I can bring, he doesn't need to rent any. I don't have chairs though.

I'm also going to bring brownies and strawberry dessert.

I believe Andrew is coming Saturday as well.

I have a bunch of the .5 L water bottles I can bring for the phyto and rotifers if those will help.
