Narrow skimmer search by gallons?

You are on it.

Tell us about your system and what you are comfortable spending.

Water volume is only part of the equation.

I didn't want to be the guy starting yet another skimmer thread! But here goes nothin. I'll get the the tape measure out another day. Lets assume that I can make room. I'm more concerned with what brands and models are recommended. I'll modify the baffles or sumps if needed.

120 gallon DT with roughly 30 gallons in sump/fuge.
1 Brazilian Golden Moray
1 White Ribbon Eel,
1 Skeletor Eel.
1 dampiera pseudochromis. Will be removing the dampiera and adding maybe 2 yellow tangs or similar.
I run the huge bag of CHemipure elite, purigen, 10 mangroves, and gobs of Macro algae.

I need something really good in this tank. So lets talk quality and what would be best instead of money..However!! I will not spend a grand on a bubbleking!

And...

40 gallon mixed reef in the works with 30 g sump/fuge.
lots of "Nano" tankmates. Here is my planned list
1 Yellow Assessor
2 Borbonius Anthias
A couple Blennies
several Pom Pom crabs
Several Skunk Shrimp
assorted corals
etc, Lets just call it medium bioload

Something good. I'd like perfect water quality here so I can indulge in those impulse coral buys:) <$400. I was thinking of maybe an SWC extreme 120.

Both need to be in the sump.

I'm alittle more budget minded but I know not to skimp on the skimmer.
This in mind, I picked up a Super Reef Octopus 2000int for my 120g. It has a good reputation on the forums. Also the bubble blaster pumps come with a 3 year warranty, which is a big plus for me.
So I'd say, SRO 2000int for the 120g ($350), and a SRO 1000int ($280) for the 40g.

I just wrote out a pretty long post but my stupid hotel decided it would rather me log in for the 30th time tonight so I lost it. I have to go to bed but the questions I would like to know out of all of it was...

What skimmer do you currently run on the 120 and what are your nitrates? How often do you do water changes?

The rest I will address tomorrow night.

Any chance anyone seeing this works for the days inn IT department. I would sure like someone to key in my mac addy instead of me having to hack their validation site and add it myself...

Thanks for the input.
I currently run an AquaEuro 150 in the 120. It works...sort of. Haven't tested for Nitrates in a while. I'll grab a new test kit tomorrow. If I told you when the last water change was you either wouldn't believe me or yell at me:) I run huge bags of Chemipure Elite and Purigen. I know its not a good habit but that combination has done so well that I've slacked on monitoring other than PH, which is rock solid.
