Naso tang not eating! Help!

I bought a naso tang about 3 days ago. He's swimming around fine and is going around the tank. My yellow tang has pIcked at him a few times, but not bad. He doesn't seem interested in eating. We have tried Ocean Nutrtition flakes and pellets. He will swim right up to the food and then turn around or swim right by it. My other fish eat it fine. We also use frozen brine shrimp. He will eat these but then spit them out. I do see him picking at the rocks and sand.

He's my favorite fish. Does he just need more time? He is skinny, but he's moving around well. Does he get enough food from from the rocks and sand?

He's in there with a yellow tang, a foxface, two clowns and a coral beauty.

Please help!

Try mysis and put garlic on that and the brine. If the fish is tasting and spitting food out that is the first step to getting a fish to eat

Frozen formula 2 cubes also have a little squid in them: that might tempt him.

I would recommend you start trying nori soaked in garlic or selcon. I rubber band a piece or it to a frag plug and stick it in my rock work

I wish you would QT your fish...I didn't and now I wish I had started out that way...after 60 days without any fish in my tank...just sayin'...ICH sux.

Definitely offer some dried seaweed: best if you rubberband it to a rock, seaweed clips seem to be more intimidating to some fish (at least in the beginning).Garlic is great-but don't put too much on the seaweed-just a few drops. When I first got my naso and Achilles I used to put 2-3 small rocks with seaweed attached(I used fishing line to secure it) and put them in spaced out so they can each get some without competing. Now they rip seaweed out of my hand as soon as I lower it in the tank.

I dipped nori in Selcon and garlic, worked for me, also do the same to all other foods. I let the food soak for about :15. I've had great success with fish roe purchased at the local grocery store. I also bought some Reef Frenzy from LRS Foods, stuff is awesome.
