naso tang with streamers

Wondering if anyone has seen a naso tang with streamers at any of the LFS. Preferably a non-blonde naso smaller than 5".

You want a Adult Naso (streamers) at 5"? That is one hard fish to find with those specs

I was thinking it was a long shot. I believe I've seen one about ~5-6" minus the start of streamers at AC, but that was some time ago. I think they currently have one thats about 12" long minus the streamers and ~16" w streamers. No way that'd fit in my tank.

My hope is to get a young male Red Sea naso w/streamers and enjoy keeping him while he's still small enough for my tank. Then probably donate him to Steinhart Aquarium for their reef tank.

Are the red sea males not commonly imported? Anyone know at about what size the streamers start to form?

The "blonde" Naso is the one from the Red Sea, N. elegans. N. lituratus is the regular Naso from the Pacific. If you get an N. elegans it is unlikely the Steinhart Aquarium will accept it as their future reef tank is a Phillipines biotope that they are strictly adhering to.

Thanks for the info. You're correct, the one I'm looking to get is the N. lituratus.

I just saw a blonde naso at AG with streamers, but think I'll continue looking for the N. lituratus.
