Nassarius Smail Egg Formations

Attached is a Word Document (Because I can't seem to upload pictures) which contains a picture of a Nassarius Snail doing what I think laying eggs, on the glass of my tank. This has happened before and I scraped them off, because the last thing I needed was 1,000,000 snails roaming around.

This time I think I will let them progress, and see what happens. If all goes well, does anyone need Nassarius snails? Looks like I might have few "Spare" ones. Will give them away.

I've not been able to find any pictures with such a egg laying patter, so if anyone knows that it could be something else other than eggs, let me know.

Mine did the same thing on friday or saturday... don't remember which day... a bunch have disappeared already but I'm leaving them alone if I wind up with 100 Nassarius I'll just trade them in at the LFS for credit

I wasn't sure which type of snail did it but it looked just like your picture...

These snails have planktotrophic larvae, so you aren't going to end up with any more of them if they try to breed in a reef tank.

Greenbean is correct. You will not get baby Nassarius.

Stomatella and Cerith are pretty much the only snails you can easily reproduce in your tank with out trying. You will also get limpets and chitons breeding from time to time.

There are various tiny snails but I would not count those as a cash crop or to stay around a long time because of predation from fish and inverts.
