Nassarius snail

Is this a nassarius snail? It is much bigger than the ones I got. Lfs guy said were nassarius.

Agreed - nassarius. I've received both sizes and have been disappointed in the little 1/8 inch ones :). I have to read a bit more carefully when ordering. These (larger ones) are my favorite snails! Never gets old watching them pop out of the sand like little zombies :)
 
I have about 5 of those guys in my 75 gallon for the past couple years. Excellent scavengers. And I agree with Sk8r, those guys can be pretty hard to acquire, be sure to check your local LFS often if they stock these guys
 
Saw them at LFS and thought they looked really cool, compared to other small snails. I got two in my tank and it's fun to see them rise from the sand. I have started dropping a few pellets in every couple of days for them to find. I have no fish or anything in the tank yet so there is no waste food for them to eat other.

Last time I saw them they were sold as "super tonga"nassarius as I recall. It's been several years but they were plentiful at the time.



Too funny!, I just went and checked the link from cincyjim. Good to know the memory is still functioning.
 
Yup! I have a few on my tank and they lay eggs on my glass everyday! I'm hoping I'd get some to actually hatch and survive into adults
