Hello,

I had 4 nassarius snails and they would hide in the sand and come out when i feed. now i only see 2 and they are not as active as before. i dont think my hermits killed them for their shell. i put an algae pellet in there and one was fighting my emerald crab over it and he was winning.

Any idea how to check what ahppend to them ?

yeah i do have hermits, i dont see them harming any other snails. hopefully they didn't munch on them :(

PRobably your sand is dirty enough now that they don't have to surface. Mine only come out when the pickings below get slim. Or when they mate.

Agreed. I am periodically surprised when the nassarius in my 90 gallon surface, having long since assumed that they disappeared. They're pretty tough, and don't really loiter where a hermit could get to them.

I had a Melanurus that ate snails like popcorn.

I hope thats the case, i loved my zombie snails as they come out whenever i feed. i didnt see the noses.

I have a 29 gallon bio cube and I got a nassarius snail as soon as I put it in the tank it burowed in the crushed coral and I have not seen it since. i do have hermits and my crushed coral bead is only 1 inch thick, and the snail was pretty big, about half an inch tall and I think i would see it ocasinaly but I never do see it I have had it for a month now. Where did it go did you think?
