I have 2 types of snails that I have are nassarius snails, but I am unsure if both / either are clam safe. One is black, called Nassarius obsoletus and the other is lighter in color (tan) called Nassarius vibex. Attached is a pic with the vibex on top and obsoletus on the bottom.

Are they clam safe?

I asked this question a couple of weeks ago and was told they were o.k. They only feed on dead organism, like a scavenger. I am not an expert though, this is only what I was told by several people on this board.

The obsoletus variety do stay in the sand alot, but the vibex seem to spend some time on sand but just as much on the glass.

I am just trying to verify tha the vibex is also ok.

I have Nassarius snails that pretty much stay on the sand and also those that are often on the glass. I've never identified them to the species level, but none of my Nassarius snails has ever bothered my clams.
