National Fish Pharmaceuticals

Does anyone know what is up with NFP? I placed an order last week and I have not yet received it. Today they are not answering the phone. I know the Dr. had surgery, but he was back because I spoke with him last week. The woman on the phone was a little rude on Tuesday when I called to inquire about my order. I am starting to loose fish. Are they going out of business? Should I order from other sources?
 
I ordered quinine sulfate to treat a stubborn ich infestation. I have now started a second round of hypo since they have been so unresponsive. Do you know of another vendor?
 
Pm me if the order falls through and I may be able to put you in touch with a veterinary pharmacy. Give them a chance though. I can only say good things about past experiences with them.
 
I emailed them last week about placing a quinin sulfate order and they just wrote me tonight. They dont answer the phone. This is the first time ive ever tried to place a order and Im not sure I am going to. I really need the quinin sulfate but they are being un responsive. So I think they are still in business since I just got a email, but I cant tell you whats going on.
 
I just spoke to the owner of the pharmacy I use. They can ship you chloroquine or quinine.
Chloroquine is a much better product. Pm me and I'll tell you how to order.

Btw chloroquine is a much better product. No daily 25% water changes. Dose once and remove with carbon when done.
 
For what it's worth, they did answer the phone and answered a question I had last week, but I called them yesterday (3/17) and no answer
 
Yep, I spoke to them early in the week and the previous week too when I placed an order. But it has been 2 weeks and I have yet to receive anything, and they are not answering the phone. In that 2 weeks, I have lost some butterflyfish. I didn't want to start a different proticol because I was not sure what mixed with quinine. I have since started hypo because I didn't want to loose any more fish. I do understand that they are having some business difficulties, but to not answer the phone for 2 days seems a bit extreme. I would have been better off if they had admitted, "we are swamped and cannot ship right now!" I would have gone a different route and maybe have saved some fish. I will be VERY hesitant to do business with them in the future.

BTW alprazo has been most helpful in my situation. I really appreciate the people on this board!
 
So the last of my new Butterflyfish died today; the hyposalinity just came too late. I still hope to treat the tank because my older fish are suffering (the infection escalates every time I try to add a fish). It has been 2 weeks since I first talked to NFP and still no shipment, and they still do not answer their phone today. I don't think I will do business with them again, and I would caution anyone else if they need something in a timely fashion. This has been an extremely bad experience. I find their lack of response since last Thursday irresponsible. Should I refuse shipment on their order now? I have placed an order with another firm today.....it will be interesting to see what arrives first!
 
That is a shame your butterfly died. I would also drop the tempo little. It will decrease the doubling time of the parasite and increase the O2 saturation.

So now all my fish are dead. Two of them I had had for 5 years. No one has sent me anything I ordered. What is up? I really feel that I would never recommend an internet company in a time of crisis. Do most of you work through local vets? My LFS does not carry any medications...so what do you do? I just think it should not take a month to receive an order. If only ThatFishPlace of DFS sold quinine based meds.....I would have had this weeks ago and maybe some of my fish would have survived.

NFP has behaved very badly during this time. I think is is proper to warn people about their business practices. DO NOT rely on them if you are in need of saving your fish. they are rude and dishonest. they told me 3 times they would ship the next day.....then stopped answering the phone.

sorry for the rant...but I am so angry about loosing all my fish!
 
Sorry to hear about your bad experience with this company. I will be sure to point anyone who asks about NFP to this thread. It really sucks when an online ordering place lets us down like this as most LFS have become a worthless source for fish meds.

My sincere condolences for your losses.
 
A post in the Vendor Experiences forum might be worthwhile, as well. That forum seems like it gets a pretty good amount of traffic. At the very least people will know not to count on NFP for emergency supplies of meds.
 
horrible company to deal with. the lady is very rude. messed up my order and billed me twice. Refused to refund me the difference and such. I had to dispute the charge with my cc.

The dr is a crack. before i started using his "meds" i asked a lot of questions and he assured me that if i follow the instructions, then nothing should go wrong etc. So I follow the instructions and his guidance and i ended up losing 3k worth of fishes...

They are very unresponsive and when you call, its usually some elderly lady who sounds like she has a hole in her throat and she gets snippy at you for calling.
