Natural Blue's Red Sea Reefer 250 Build

I think it should have a port on the controller for an Ethernet cable. I just bought one off eBay that was advertised as apex ready...got it delivered and it's not. Not impressed

In that case mine is not Apex ready. If it was I'm guessing you could ramp the speed up and down from the apex? I don't know if I'd use that feature once its dialed in and you should be able to turn it off from the Apex EB8.

Yeah.. I like the fact that I could put it on feed mode, shut off skimmer and put Vortech on feed mode... Have it all automated... Important to me cause my work schedule is crazy.... This gives me peace of mind

Shipping confirmation on the stand finally and it will be here Monday, probably pick up and setup on Wednesday.

I did get my new 16 gallon top off resvoir and it fits in the closet perfectly!

Things just got serious with the ATO.....

The closet the ATO reservoir sits in is under our stairs and I remember wishing I'd of had the builder finish it out under there so I decided to cut a hole under the bottom shelf in the closet to allow access and now I have a ton of room behind the tank!

The main reason for doing this is so I don't have the Tunze power cord and top off line exposed and leading from the closet to the tank for everyone to see.

Here is the hole I cut out..(yes I can fit through it quite easily.

Standing inside my new hideout!

Top off water line from Tunze..

Ok, I have to say I'm tempted to cut a hole in the wall nearest to my tank now. I need a tank hideout like this dang it. Hahaha great build thread so far. Sub'd.

My Reefer 250 was supposed to come yesterday but wasn't on the truck. LFS called and said the distributor called to tell them it was damaged so they didn't ship it. I thought it was an excuse for not really being in stock but maybe packaging problems?

That sucks, I know how much you've been looking forward to getting it.

Yes, it was really disheartening and my LFS was really disappointed also. He worked hard to get Red Sea to ship direct since the wholesalers were out of white, but honestly it's pretty poor packaging for a tank stand. It only had one layer of cardboard to protect it. Hopefully, when he calls Red Sea they'll get another one out quick!

At this point, with the 55lbs of rock I have in the brute trash can with water, should I be ghost feeding or anything else or is the bacteria already there? The rock has been cycling/curing for months now!

I would do some water tests to see where you are now. If no ammonia or nitrates, I would ghost feed sparingly

Finally, it was worth the wait! Probably should have turned the light off for pics..

Sump, disregard the mess...

Media Reactor mounted and plumbed...
