Natural Sun Light Culture?

I set a culture in front of window in direct sunlight yesterday around 10:00 AM. Its green but its not getting any greener since. I check around 3:00 PM today when I left for work. Exp Breeders, how much time does it take to see coloration differences. I know I know, I am using DT Phyto, yell at me now. Tehe.

Furthermore, will this even work long term? You know, the natural light idea.

It works in nature, I also know a shellfish culture facility that has a continuous culture set up in a greenhouse for their phyto ;) Expect a new culture to take around a week to really darken and be ready. Ideally your culture will get direct light all day long in order to get maximum growth rates.

billsreef, you know any places or people i can get cheap or free rotifers from.. Willing to pay shipping. Looking for like a 2 liter bottle full if possible.

My cultures are down for the summer, but perhaps one of the forum regulars might be willing to part with some excess if you PM them. Otherwise, I usually get resting rotifers from Florida Aqua Farms or trade my local public aquarium friends some beer for cultures ;)

Well this cannot go any worse than my mosquito culture project. My wife decides shes going to be clever and kick my culture over b/c she thinks "its gross to culture there larvae" and destroys my 10 gallon tank. The glass shatter, and I cry. I know its only a $10 tank but money is tight still. Not to mention, I was suffering from dehydration at the time this happened.
