A video of the nutrient transport mode I've started using and the wave I get out of it... I now only run one mp40ES... Not sure how my zoas will respond to this, but I'm sure I'll find out soon, lol...

New digs :D

picked up a custom acrylic, eorobraced, cube with an external overflow... 35 x 29 x 18... this tank will become my new sps display in the coming weeks... I am hoping to use a single 400 watt halide on this display, but i may end up doing a DIY 10 bulb, 36" t5 rig... worst case scenario is i have to use my current light for a bit... the next thing i need to do is find a smaller tank, hopefully a cube, to act as my zoa/paly display... which will sit side by side with the cube pictured here...

pallobi, I'm still following along and loving it.

Can you share some of your husbandry steps and rituals you do with this setup? Also what are you dosing and how much?

Thanks,
Brad

Neal,
I apologize if you have explain this already, but what are your desired/achieve tank parameters ie alk/cal/ph/mag etc...

Also what do you dose?

Thanks in advanced,
Brad

I have a new tank and new look reef with sand and everything now, lol... I'll probably make a new thread... It's not much to speak of, but I have about a dozen sps mini colonies and zoas with a couple Australian maxima clams... I really love my new cube... I've changed things up and I'm pretty happy about it... I still have a vision of building an underwater temple and will do again... But I needed a change and I have been a bit humbled here and there lately but I've learned a lot and never took any "easy fixes" and stuck things out until I figured them out... So that is a good thing I think... Again, I'm pretty excited about my new setup, it still fits my simplistic approach and look actually... I'm picking up a mystery wrasse on Monday or Tuesday as I'm gonna keep more wrasses, hence the sand I now have... And I may add a 500 efflo and a couple more zoas this week...

I also wana make it a point to feeds corals more this time... And I am also using LEDs now and will from now on... Currently using a generic Evo 120, but will be getting a radion or something like that in the relative near future... Honestly, so far they seem to be working great about a month in... But who really knows at this point... Although my joe the coral has never looked better...

I really jus wana say I love this forum... It's amazing how comfortable one can get with even some moderate short term success (aka noob) which really jus leads to overlooking even the most simple of feeding aspects... I really have been served some humble pie the last few months and earlier this year... But the important thing IMO is to not give up (cuz everyone needs a hobby anyway, lol) and more importantly to retain what I've learned and not make the same mistakes... I feel if I do this, it will jus become easier and ill become a better hobbyist and more succesful...

It's late and I jus got out of work, but I wanted to respond and give a little update... I'll start a new thread and share soon :)

SAND!!!! aw man just when I thought you beat the sand subject and won. :sad1:

I'm really glad to hear you are still forging on (isn't that what we do, after all?) with the hobby. I'm eager to see your new tank. Please start up that thread! :)
