Neat video- shows pistol taking out a cleaner shrimp

9900C? Hmmmm this must be some extremely small level of "temperature" change, since that would vaporize the surrounding water instantly and you'd see bubbles as a result.

i think they shoot sound waves only or jets of water due to the snapping motion not intense heat like they say in the video.. but hey, I'm no scientist just a regular joe reefer...

I guess it just shows that not all Pistol shrimps are reefsafe:lol:

and to think that I have several of them in my tank..

wow, now I know why they called it Pistol shrimp =P

delsol650: Do you pistol shrimps attack other members of your tank?

Nah,.. just pop off a lot during night time...to scare fish away from there burrows trying to hide at night

Cool! All this time I thought I had a mintis shrimp lurking somewhere. It was my pistol shrimp all along. :)

There was an article some time back that basically said that pistol shrimp can wreak as much havok as a mantis shrimp.. I don't know how valid that statement is, but we have always been of the mind that neither were good to have in a reef tank.

THANK YOU THANK YOU... Just wanted to give folks here eyecandy once in a while.. my way of contributing....
