I went away for the weekend and came home to a bigtime red hair algae problem. From what I've read, Mexican Turbo Snails are the best way to get rid of it. Does anybody know where to get one locally in Miami?

thanks!

They will sometimes. But they they will die starved in the tank. Best to address with reduced light and water changes to export the nutrients in the water column.

True ^^ I would do this first.

And recommend only getting one Mexican Turbo, It will take some time to get rid of your algae problem if you still have, but likely won't ever starve to death.

Thanks for the input - I guess I vastly underestimated how common they are haha.

I'm only planning on getting one of them in addition to doing all of the above.

Never realized that, I would've thought most places have them. lol
down here I have a shop that has them all the time. Would recommend but I know you wont make the drive down...

i have 5 of them in my 65 and they keep the thing spotless. the downside of them is that they eat so much that if you don't have any algae they will die off.

I got it taken care of...the algae has slowed after many water changes, lights reduced to a couple of hours a day, and one of these guys.

Thanks for all of the help!
