need a skimmer

I'm looking for a needlewheel/venturi skimmer (like EuroReef, Octopus, DAS, etc), preferably recirc, but not required. Efficiency is my priority in my skimmer selection.

Should be able to handle a heavily stocked 120 or better.

I've been waiting on a used RS135 for almost 2 months now and growing restless. Now looking at other options. I'm hoping to find a great deal on a used skimmer, but will probably buy the DAS EX-2 or BM200 if I can't find a deal. I wish I made this decision 2 weeks ago when that BubbleMaster was up for sale!

Let me know if you have what I need. Thanks for lookin.

Mark-

I have an ASM G2 that isn't being used, and I don't have any plans for it. I believe it is rated for up to 200 gallons. I think the new price is in the vicinity of $270 or so. I thouroughly cleaned it before I packed it away, and if you are interested I could pull it out and make sure the pump fires and everything is still in working order & all the parts are there. Then we could talk price.

It isn't recirculating, but you can get the mod online and fit it that way.

Mark,

I would definetly get the EX2. I love these skimmers. My EX 1 is awesome pulls out nasty smelling crap:)

Was at My father in laws last night and he has an EX 3 on his 210 and he has the darkest skimmate i have ever seen it just looks like pure black coffee you cant see through!

Ultimately its your choice but for a great price and a skimmer you dont have to tune in this thing is great!

Yes, I've heard so many good things about the DAS. I really like that it uses the Sicce pumps, too.

I'm currently eyeballing a used Elos NS 1000. Only thing I don't like about it is its high wattage use (it uses an Eheim 1260).

Yeah, I read up as much as I could on the new Xtremes. Unfortunately, there is very little information about them. I'm really tempted by them as well, but very wary of being an early adopter. It would be fun to be first in line, but also risky, as I would not be able to afford another skimmer if it didn't work out. I wish they had info on the Recirc models. I'm curious how much more they would be.

My bad about the aquabees. I knew that, but forgot. I've got Sicce on my mind because of the Xtremes. IMO, that is a very good reason to go with the Xtreme. Those Sicce pumps seem to be very efficient.

The nice thing about the ELOS I'm looking at is the body is rock solid, using quality, thick acrylic. That appears to be one thing that is lacking in the DAS and Xtreme skimmers.

Mark,

Be adventerous and be the first to get the Extreme. If not The DAS is great.

The Das are very efficient also. They say 38watts. But jon/hahnmeister said they only actually pull 23 watts

I know...its tempting to be the first on the block with a new skimmer. Who is it that likes to review skimmers in MARS? Maybe I can convince him to do a review first, then sell it to me. I'm sure some kind of arrangement can be made...
