Need a stand... torn on what to do

I need a stand for my 120... The regular mass produced stands are ugly, and the more attractive stands are approaching $1000 - for some reason I have a problem with paying more for a few pieces of MDF than I did my 8 lamp ATi fixture :hmm2:

Just looking for suggestions, anyone know a relatively local fabricator/craftsman that can produce some decent quality work?

Type in google diy aquarium stand. It will show youa template. You can build a stand much cheaper and more solid than buying one. If your not handy enough, then you need to learn. Lol. You'll save $$$ in the end.

I would go to a local welding shop and have them build me a steel stand (if I were to do it again...) Like "reef in the Sky"'s stand.

I would frame one out of 2x4, skin it with lamenated plywood. If you buy one it will be too short for your skimmer.
