need a worm id

Hey you guys,

I have been noticing that my caulastrea that i recently bought looks like they are being eaten :mad2:! I recentle saw a red worm in a tube like home on the side of the coral's skeleton. i think it may be chowing down on my candy cane!! i'll try to get a good picture. what is the best romoval if it comes to that??? taking out the cc and removing worm with an exacto knife?
please help

Hi there, LF..,

I think unless you really see this particular worm is actually eating your coral you shouldn't go on safary and try cutting it's guts out. Can you describe this worm, or perhaps have image of it that you can post?

Take it from me, I killed many things in my days because I had some really bad advice. See if that worm you are talking about is really doing anything, it could be a comensal organism or just innocent standby... ;)

PS. Not many worms can handle a Caulastrea coral and eat it, I can believe if it is a crab or shrimp of some kind. Worm..., naaa! :D
