my tank is 72*24*30''high all 3/4 inch glass are their any tricks to picking this tank up off the ground. has anyone used suction cups. i think i will need 6 people? thanks for any help

I was only able to get 4 people (on short notice) to move my 240.
6 would have been better.
I don't think it would have been possible without the large suction cups I rented. They really saved my butt and everyones back.

Lift with your knees, and drink beer afterwards =)

If you use suction cups, make sure they are high quality suction cups. We had ones that failed in the shop when techs would try to install BMW windshields. That was a costly mishap. Now we just skip them all together, and just borrow a couple people.

it depends on how far you are going and what obstacles are there... it took 4 guys to pick p a 210 moving it from the back of our truck and walked through the door to the kitchen.. only about 50 ft or so... i'm the biggest of the 4 and i'm 5'6'' 137lbs... so 6 guys would do nice in most cases.. if there where stairs then i suggest a 7th person..(to help support the guy on the bottom.. he just needs to push on the guy on the bottoms back so he don't fall over) if the tank has plastic trim and is flat on the floor, i would slightly tilt it to its side ( on it's longest side) until i could get some fingers on it.. then work my way around till i it's up in the air...

how light is acrylic compared to glass. i have 48x 36x 30 3/4" acrylic i move it by myself with a dolly and 3 people to lift up to 50" high stand. i am moving soon too and yes a couple of beer or food doesn't hurt afterwards

this glass is 3/4 inch so its very heavy i have moved a 210 1/2 inch glass without a problem. i did not expect this tank to be this heavy. does anyone know who may rent heavy duty suction cups. im in jersey.
