need advice on nano tank

Nanotuners.com has a Finnex M Reef edition tank, it is 20 gal and acrylic with a built in fuge. I was thinking about that one before the new 22 glass M-tank with the skimmer in back was released. Here is a link to it http://www.nanotuners.com/product_info.php?cPath=23&products_id=310

Can any one chime in here what would be more practical for these smaller tanks a fuge or skimmer? From what I understand other than nitrate reduction people use fuges for pod production but with these smaller thanks where keeping a manderin is a no no would the protein skimmer be more practical?

I only have a skimmer on my whole tank. That's 30 gallons. It's always been that way and my nitrates are 0 and everything checks out fine. I do a water change about once a month........if I remember. Once the tank gets mature it's cake to keep running.

With small tanks that are lightly stocked you don't really need a skimmer, and from my understanding the smaller "nano skimmers" don't really work well.

Have you thought of just getting a 10g tank? Or a 20g or 29g Tank? Much cheaper and you can spend the extra money on quality lighting which none of the nanocubes have. My first tank was a 10g that I had 96watts of PC over it, don't most of the nanocubes only have around 40watts? With the 10g tank I never had nitrate problems but even so, I changed 2 gallons (20%) of water a week which really helps the system if you are having nitrate problems.
