need advice

wow this really sucks im in between rock and a hard place all i know is i gotta get these fish out of the tote ammonia in there is 1.0 allso but they look fine. The fish still in display look fine allso. Im starting to think maybe it was just from the old live sand i added probably what made the nitrates go absoultly crazy but seems like after 2 big water changes and vacuum the sand nitrates are way down. but ammonia is still 1.0

Ok so drained tank im cleaning with vinagar now .

Is there anyone out there that can hold my corals for like a month. If so let me know thanks allot dont even know what will make it but better then them sitting in a tote

Well got i all cleaned and rinsed twice man vinagar sucks when your heads in a 210 . Im going to star filling back up now. Still on fence about rock.

So i filled it back up everything is good . i went and looked n tote where fish where my emperror was on side looked like he wasn't breathing and all white i touched him didn't move . So i grab him with net he flopped so i ran him up and put in display . One hour later hes swiming around and all stress spots are going away but still breathing kinda heavy. I lost a cleaner shrimp in there.

So i tested water in tota ammonia was 4.0 ... Yea i know i caught the scribble , achillies ,desjardinii and clown trigger put them all in display they all look happy but nothing in there im heading to home depot to buy some huge pvc seeing that my scribble is allmost 11 inches.

Im going to bake all rock taking no chances . So do i just use a big pan and boil water stick rock in there for how long? Then let sit out in sun and dry?

from another site:

"Some people use a blow torch, by "nuking" live rock you're basically killing anything and everything on it, good and bad. The end result is base rock, which will eventually come back to life when added to the aquarium. When I nuked my old live rock I soaked it in 50/50 bleach/water solution for a few days, then I soaked it in baking soda/water solution for 3-4days. iir it's a pound of baking soda per 10gal of water? Can't remember exactly though. Then I soaked the rock in a new baking soda/water solution for another 3-4 days. And finally i soaked the rock in pure water for about a week, then I let it dry out. This process can be repeated if needed, but my rock turned very white and all the bad disappeared. It worked for me, there are many was of doing it though, best of luck to you with whatever method you chose!"

Cant i just boil the rock on stove? I was going to put each peice in boiling water for like 10 minutes then hose of and let dry on deck. Let me know any thoughts

hoping someone else will chime in...found this on another site: "I wouldn't recommend literally boiling or cooking the rocks. It could release toxic fumes and the pressure buildup inside the rocks could cause them to explode (but more likely just break apart). If you really want to goet rid of all the built up phopshates and gunk, you have to "cook" your rocks in a dark container and do frequent water changes. The bacteria will consume all of the excess waste and purge the rock in the form of detritus. Do a search for how to "cook" live rock"

i've never had to do this...

Boiling it will kill it. The dead organics will fuel nutirents. Boiling won't remove any surface area or toxins that may be stuck to it.

Ok so whats best option for rock im sorry but i never did this before.

QUESTION could this have happened from a toadstool leather dieing? I found it under a rock he was big at 1 point but it stunk so bad.Or do you think it was the silacone?
