I'll try to be brief with the back story.
Tank: 120g 4X2X2
I was given a female perc that i was told was wild caught. Within a week she started to host a large RBTA. She is/was very happy. Eats very well. On Black Friday i purchased a set of Phantom clowns. The larger of the two is a hair larger then the perc i have. I captured the perc and acclimated all the clowns together. When i introduced them into the aquarium the perc became VERY friendly with the smaller of the two phantoms and relentlessly bullied the larger phantom. I could see what was happening. The perc was trying to seduce, what i perceive to be, the male. After three days of the perc constantly bullying the large phantom it stopped. The perc is now extremely friendly with the larger of the two phantoms.
So i wake up this morning to find the smaller of the two phantoms hosting a smaller RBTA that is on the other side of the tank from the large RBTA the perc was hosting. I was surprised because I didn't think tank breed clowns would host so readily. The perc no longer hosts the large RBTA but instead hosts a giant clam within the same proximity. The perc is now showing very aggressive behavior towards the smaller phantom hosting the RBTA. It feels like the perc is envious of the phantom finding an anemone to host.
Now to my question.
This appears to be a territorial/love triangle between the clowns. Melrose Place has nothing on my tank (anyone who grew up in the 80's/90's understands that reference...AND YOU KNOW YOU WATCHED IT!).
I'm somewhat concerned that this will not end with a threesome between Michael, Jane, and Heather Locklere but rather Jane at the bottom of the pool.
I understand every circumstance is unique. Until i see damaged fins I'm inclined to leave things alone. In you're experience how much time should be given for these things to work themselves out? Should i intervene?
Everyone seems to be eating. The phantoms not as much as I'd like but they are eating.
