Thanks!

Ive had these guys in the tank for literally years now :o

I didnt think they were mojano, but dont know for sure what they are. I actually used to target feed the big ones :o

tulip anemones i believe..most people believe they are pests. we have a LFS here who actually sold a rock of about 20 of these as if they were desirable.

lol, I had one HH in on a rock w/ another coral. Didnt even notice it until weeks later. Showed a pic to the LFS i got it from and all they could tell me was it was some sort of rock anemone :dunno:

Well it's neither Anemonia majano nor Aiptasia mutabilis, but I don't know what it is - i've never seen it before. Searching the net for "tulip anemone" didn't help, it's identified variously as Anemonia and Aiptasia, which it isn't, or at least no species of those genera I've ever seen.

The uneven foot suggests that it reproduces by pedal laceration, but if they haven't become more than a dozen in "years" it doesn't seem as if it's a pest. Also IMO it's somewhat attractive with that unusual shape, I wouldn't mind having one.

Def not aiptasia.

The original hitchhiker came in about 3 yrs ago, i target fed it and the first 2 or 3 new ones that came along, not knowing what it was and not being given any reason to be concerned when i asked my LFS about it.

Since these pics were taken I did remove a few of them, theres still probably 8-10 in the tank, but they tend to stick to the same area, a couple guys may wonder off on their own, but definitely not an outbreak or anything like that

I guess i'll just continue to keep an eye out unless someone else gives me cause for concern.

Thanks for all your help so far RC

I can't give you an ID, but since they don't look like they are bothering anything, I'd leave them if you like them, though I'm guessing you just want to know what they are.

I've had majanos and they sting the crap out of anything near them. My zoas always looked irritated. Your nems have a long column so it doesn't look like they want to sting anything in their vicinity. The zoas right next to them look fine.
