Anyone have a clue what type of anemones these are? I was told they are BTAs but they don't look like any I've seen before.

majano, not sure if im spelling it right. small, split often, kinda taking over?

That's what I was thinking as well.

i dont know they look tho have those little white marks around the mouth and i dont think that clown is that small. im going with BTA

No way, Those are majano! get rid of them now before they spread all over your tank! they are as bad as aptasia! Those of you Saying BTA's have you ever seen btas the size of the mushrooms in the back of the picture? Either those are some huge shrooms, or Some tini tiny bta's. Definately majano. Joe's juice and squirt them with a syringe.

They're not in my tank, there is a guy in my area selling/trading them. He said he ordered the original anemone from Foster's & Smith as a GBTA about a year and a half ago. I spoke to him on the phone and he seems cool. He only wants $5 for one, or to trade for some Zoas or shrooms. The guy lives about an hour away from me, so I'd hate to get down there and find out they're Majanos. It looks like some of them have bubble tips, but who knows.

I have a bunch of those. Started with only one a couple of years ago. The biggest one was 5 inches. Most are 2-3 inches. I have stopped feeding them so they don't grow and split like crazy. They are btas.

Majanos never get larger then an inch or two((base size I mean)). Those look like BTAs, and if the nem was ordered from Dr.FS, then Im pretty sure it would still be a BTA, they know their stuff over there. Either way, BTAs can split rather fast as well over time. Also Majanos don't host clowns :) they are very nice btas IMO.

Thanks for all the input everyone. There is a guy in my reef club that lives near the man with these and he's going to go by and check them out in person. I'll have a definite answer soon.
